Oil Pump Valve

Oil Pump Valve

Introduction
Oil pressure relief valve is usually installed in oil pump to help control oil capacity and oil pressure. Under high oil pressure, oil pump valve can normalize the oil pressure in oil gallery by opening ball valve. But in some engines, pressure-limiting valves are installed in the main oil gallery of cylinder block, or on the assembly seat of coarse strainer.

Attentions
1. Generally, spring tension needs no adjustment when the oil pressure relief valve is in low oil pressure, because it has been corrected before sale and the low pressure is hardly caused by spring tension.
2. Make sure the pressure relief valve is unblocked, or the overhigh oil pressure can damage the seal ring of filter and then cause oil leakage, and even damage the cylinder block.
3. Normally, engine oil is regularly spilling out from the oil pump valve, and it will flow back to the oil pan. But if the engine is worn out, less oil will flow back. If no oil is circulated back, the engine should be overhauled.

Generally, lubrication oil is always water-cooled or air-cooled by coolers. In high-temperature working condition, oil viscosity will decline, which reduces lubrication function. So it is necessary to cool down the working condition and keep high oil viscosity to promise ...
