Introduction
1. Sinotruk/Weichai Power engine camshafts are used to operate poppet valves. Our camshafts for Sinotruk truck engines/ Weichai Power engines are mainly made from alloy cast iron or chilled cast iron.
2. Cast alloy iron is compound of molten iron and metal elements such as Mn, Cr, Mo and Cu, etc. Components of the molten iron are akin to those of gray iron. After steel-melting, ferrite quantity is greatly decreased. Cast alloy iron camshaft is suitable for rotating in high frequency, such as CAC480 cam shaft in hardness of HB 263-311.
3. In Sinotruk/Weichai Power engine camshafts, the outer sphere is white cast iron, and the core is gray cast iron. Because dry friction or semi-dry friction exists during its working, its surface should be wear-resistant. Besides, high toughness of the core in the chilled cast iron camshaft is requested to remit potential damage caused by bending and large contact stress.

Process
Main processes during production of engine camshaft are rough machining, grinding, ablaengen, drilling, thermal treatment, chemical treatment, polishing and crack inspection.
